Reducing our carbon footprint
At Intelipac, we are totally committed to global environmental issues. In 2006, our range took on a totally new turn when we introduced the first ever 100% organic cotton shopping bags for Marks & Spencer.
They were a huge success! Featuring models Twiggy and Erin O’Connor as part of the company’s marketing campaign, over 1 million units alone were sold in the UK in a period of just 3 months.
The success continues: we currently supply around 2 million bags for life (made from organic cotton, fair-trade cotton, recycled polyester, non-woven PP and other eco-friendly materials) to various UK clients. This helps our clients demonstrate their credentials as responsible retailers.
But that’s not all. Intelipac’s commitment to hi-tech vacuum technology means we can reduce freight size by as much as 400%. This also serves to lower the cost to our customers.
Total commitment to ethical issues
Intelipac is accredited to both the British Retail Consortium and Institute of Packaging (BRC/IOP). These accreditations mean we can reassure our customers that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure that our products are produced in an ethical and morally responsibly environment.
Intelipac is also a member of SEDEX, an online organisation which proves that the factories we use trade both ethically and lawfully. We also pride ourselves in supporting the local communities surrounding our factories. Just one example is where we provide eye clinics and health screening to local communities in Calcutta, India.
Our supply chains, too, ensure there are no hidden contractors. In short, we are as passionate about transparency as we are about packaging – and have the certificates to prove it! |
