Fairtrade Licensees |
(23/05/2008) |
In December 2007, Intelipac’s cotton and jute manufacturing site in India become an approved manufacturer of Fairtrade cotton bags and accessories.
Furthermore, Intelipac who import a massive amount of packaging and bags for life to the UK from its global network of factories became official Fairtrade Licensees.
Intelipac are working with a number of leading supermarket chains and fashion retailers on new Fairtrade bags for life that are sold in the UK and Australia.
So far, these lines have proven themselves to be very successful and are generating healthy profits for clients as well as promoting ethical and ecologically sound practices throughout the respective supply chains.
As Jacques Cannon, Group Sales Director of Intelipac commented , “Being Licensees of Fairtrade cotton bags now means that we can offer a full range of eco-ethical bags for life to our markets here in Europe and further afield in our Australian markets. In 2007, we worked with one of the leaders in this category to bring 100% organic bags to these markets and this adds another ‘string to our bow".

Intelipac supports the local community at one of its manufacturing sites |
(21/05/2008) |
Intelipac have been supporting an annual programme at one of its partner manufacturing sites.
Every year the factory holds an eye clinic for the needy from surrounding villages. Sadly, many local residents of the village surrounding the factory have no means of acquiring spectacles or having their cataracts removed.
Several hundred people are screened and hundreds treated for eye problems much to the delight of the local community.
Jacques Cannon, Group Sales Director at Intelipac also added, “We represent some of the UK’s most ethically driven major retail clients. Our partnership with this site in particular is built on a lot more than commercial gain. It involves giving something back to the communities who provide Intelipac with quality solutions for our clients. The factory also supports education in the community through the purchase of books for children. Other initiatives include providing work for minority groups who would otherwise find it difficult to find fair paid work and we are also involved in supporting greener energy sources for the factory who now have access to solar energy and are working on a plan to reduce their own carbon footprint further”
Intelipac continues to seek even more ways of working as ethically as possible, and as 'green' as possible with all their partner factory sites around the world.
Intelipac have just launched their new website. We hope that it provides you with all the information you need to see why we are one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of packaging solutions in the UK and Europe. We intend to add more content going forwards and feature news articles about eco bags, green packaging and many more current themes that both interest and drive our customers in their day to day business.
